Here at Kingfisher Signs & Graphics we recently undertook an interesting project for a local deer farm. The owners approached us, looking to see if we could turn a photograph of one of their prize deer into a silhouette decal for the rear window of their truck.
First, our Chief Sign Maker, Matt, created a clipping path around the subject deer in Photoshop, to isolate the individual deer. Then he traced it and converted it to vector artwork in Illustrator. Next, he created a contour cut path around the deer artwork in Illustrator.
The image was printed and a protective overlaminate was applied before being cut out on our Graphtec cutter. The lettering for the final design was cut from a different material and then the two pieces was applied separately to the rear window of the customer’s truck to make the final layout.
The image is visually striking, and the customers were extremely pleased with the eye-catching advertisement for their farm – sure they would be the envy of their colleagues in the deer farming industry.
